Booking & tutoring policies

Free and open scheduling
Anyone may view the public calendar and reserve an available appointment without creating an account or making a payment. The calendar displays the session rate and confirms the selected time, but it does not open a checkout or charge a card.
Separate payments
The only online payment form is the standalone Make a Payment page. The payer enters a service description and an agreed amount, then chooses PayPal or an eligible debit or credit card option handled by PayPal. A payment does not create, cancel, reschedule, or otherwise change an appointment. Confirm payment details with Nicholas before sending money if the amount or service is uncertain.
Cancellation and rescheduling
Customers can cancel or reschedule from the private appointment page until 24 hours before the start time. Inside that window, contact Nicholas directly; changes are reviewed case by case. A cancelled appointment releases its time. Cancelling an appointment does not automatically refund a separate payment.
Refunds
Approved electronic refunds are returned through PayPal when possible and may take additional time to appear depending on PayPal, the bank, or the card issuer. Sessions already delivered are generally not refundable, except where required by law or agreed in writing. Contact Nicholas with the payment reference and reason for the request.
In-person travel
Any displayed distance-based travel fee is included in the session rate shown when booking. Parking or toll costs, if relevant, are discussed and approved before the session. In-person locations must be safe and appropriate; Nicholas may propose a public meeting location.
Learning outcomes and academic integrity
Tutoring provides individualized instruction, planning, feedback, and practice. Specific grades, scores, admissions results, or course outcomes cannot be guaranteed. Nicholas will not take an exam, impersonate a learner, or complete graded work that the learner must submit as their own.
Minors
A parent or legal guardian should make or approve arrangements for a minor. The responsible adult must provide accurate contact and location information and remain available as appropriate for the learner's age and session format.
Access Rates
Access Rate requests are reviewed privately. Submitting a request does not reserve an appointment. Redacted documentation may be requested, but Social Security numbers, complete bank-account numbers, and unnecessary financial records should never be submitted.

Use the consultation form, reply to an appointment email, or email nicholas@neighborandmain.com with questions. Material policy changes apply prospectively; the policy version accepted at booking is retained with the appointment record.
